Trading in DataForce Fantasy Football Leagues
Trading is an important part of season-long fantasy football. DataForce leagues let you trade all sort of things:
- Players, of course, may be traded from one team to another.
- Upcoming picks in your snake draft. Email drafts even allow you to trade picks while the draft is underway!
- You will start each league with $500 in blind bidding money for the year. This money may be traded for other compensation.
- In email auctions (DataForce-hosted leagues only; not MyFantasyLeague auctions) you are allowed to trade auction money before or during the auction draft. Note that once your roster is full, all remaining auction money is taken away, so you must trade before the auction ends for you.
- In dynasty leagues and keeper leagues, you may trade future-year picks. Keeper leagues allow trading picks one year in advance, and dynasty leagues allow trading up to two years in advance.
- In contract leagues, you may trade player contracts.
The Trade Review Process
DataForce commissioners monitor all trades to prevent collusion, but with so many options for trading, evaluating each trade becomes complex. For this reason, we encourage league members to keep an eye on trades as well, and if something looks suspicious or threatens to upset the integrity of the league, to let us know with a trade protest. This initiates a process of collecting input from other league members, and from owners in peer leagues (leagues with similar rules to yours), so that the commissioner can make an informed and unbiased decision about possibly reversing the trade. The Trade Window
Because we must allow time for evaluating trades before starting lineups each week (in case a trade needs to be reversed), once the season begins all trades for the week must be accepted before noon on Saturday. This gives us 24 hours to collect information for a trade review.
The trade window opens up again Tuesday morning.
There is no enforced trade window in the preseason. Trade anytime you like before the season begins.
